Instructions for Students for Notebook Maintenance

  • Cover your notebook neatly with a transparent cover.
  • Write Name / Class / Subject legibly on the label.
  • Maintain an index page and update it regularly with chapter details.
  • Make a title page before starting a new chapter.
  • Start every new chapter on a new page and highlight headings.
  • Write the date on the right-hand margin for each entry.
  • Avoid tearing pages or scribbling on the notebook.
  • Use ink correction tape for mistakes instead of scribbling.
  • Draw diagrams neatly and label them.
  • Use a ruler for drawing lines and tables.

Instructions for Teachers for Notebook Checking

  • Thoroughly check each word and correct with a red pen.
  • Circle errors and underline grammatical mistakes.
  • Provide detailed corrections and ask students to rewrite mistakes multiple times.
  • Check cover, index, completion of work, title page, neatness, and correction page thoroughly.

  • Evaluate relevance and amount of work done in the notebooks.

  • Ensure timely checking of notebooks by subject teachers and co-ordinators.
  • Monitor handwriting and presentation of work.
